Everywhere that you look there is energy. Surface Wave is literally named after the term known in physics. One of our first clients described our abilities by saying that we make ordinary instances seem beautiful. This is because we believe there is beauty to be found in all walks of life. Whether that be capturing a video to promote yourself or your business, filming your wedding day so that those memories will last a lifetime, or depicting the emotions you wish to convey to your fans through music video production; we are your go to source for the most creative and eloquent filming experiences.

My name is Josh Warren, and I make videos. Simple enough right? Moreover, I gained a love for media of all types at a young age. As a five year old I would hear tunes in my head based upon the music that my family and I enjoyed together. I would ask my father to write my lyrics down as they came to my head. Later on in middle school, my neighborhood friends and I began filming things with a camcorder. Specifically, we made a parody of MTV's show called "Scarred'. Good luck finding that video on youtube (yes it is still up and got over ten thousand views at the time). The production quality was terrible, but our peers and classmates found it hilarious and people actually recognized us when we entered high school based upon viewing that video on myspace (yes, I said myspace).

I focused more in high school on spending time with my friends and playing sports for recreation. I finished High School playing football at Bossier High School in my hometown of Bossier City. I always loved the game of football but I understood that despite my love for the game, I did not possess the natural ability to play in college nor did I put in the effort to compensate for my lack of natural athleticism. Once it was time for me to go to college I initially studied Mass Communications with a focus in Broadcast Journalism. As I treated many things in my life up to that point, I did not take things seriously enough to finish my degree initially. I took some time off of school and simply worked as a server/prep cook. In this time frame I gained a love for two things, the culinary arts and rock n roll. I began playing guitar at the age of 17 but began to take it seriously at the age of 19 when me and those same neighborhood friends started playing college bars all over Louisiana. My lead singer decided to go on his own and move to Nashville to chase his songwriting dreams, so I went back to college.

I finally finished my associates degree at BPCC in 2017. I studied several subjects but my main focus there was Video Production, Audio Production and Music. Still having a great love for the culinary arts having been heavily influenced by Anthony Bourdain's works both in the kitchen and on the media production side of things; I continued to work as a cook and became a Chef. In 2019 I hung my apron up once and for all after cooking at some of the best restaurants in both Shreveport and Nashville. I came back home to Shreveport to work for a man named Brent Latin. Brent owns a production company called Young Professionals Entertainment. I worked for Brent for the better part of two years until the end of 2021 when I decided to go out on my own.

The aim for me as a creator is to eventually become a film director, however I am in love with the filming process no matter the scale of the production. My first clients consisted of real estate agents, most of whom I still serve today in some capacity. My business has grown quickly with the help of my peers and clients like Nick Herzog and DJ Thomas who consistently pass me work and referrals.

What began as a young man with a dream has become a full scale video production company with no signs of slowing down. I am ever grateful for everyone who has been with me through this entire process and for all of my new clients which seem to be finding me on a regular basis. If you're still reading then I appreciate you taking the time to learn my story and I hope to get to tell yours through my camera lens soon.

Much love,

Josh Warren
